Checking Engine Mounts

Raise the engine to remove weight from the mounts and to place a slight tension on the rubber. Observe both mounts while raising engine.
Replace a powertrain mount if it exhibits:
A. Hard rubber surface covered with heat cracks;
B. Rubber separated from metal plate of the mount;
C. Rubber split through center; or
D. Fluid leaking from hydraulic mounts.
