Dual-Stage Passenger-Side Air Bag Module

The dual-stage passenger-side air bag module is mounted in right side of instrument panel, above glove box. When impact sensors close, signaling an impact, air bag igniters trigger inflator. Dual-stage air bag will deploy at one of two different rates depending on crash severity, seat belt usage and passenger seat occupant classification (if equipped with occupant classification sensor). When air bag is activated, instrument panel trim cover tears at seams and hinges, allowing inflation. Passenger-side air bag module is replaced only as a complete assembly.
