Removal & Installation

  1. Before proceeding, see AIR BAG SAFETY PRECAUTIONS  . The front air bag sensor is located on upper radiator support, next to hood latch. Disable air bag system. See DISABLING SYSTEM  under DISABLING & ACTIVATING AIR BAG SYSTEM. Open hood. Remove pin-type retainers and upper radiator deflector. Remove 3 front air bag sensor mounting screws. Disconnect front air bag sensor electrical connector and remove sensor.
  2. To install, reverse removal procedure. Tighten fasteners to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  . Connect negative battery cable. With air bag simulators installed at all deployable devices, perform system operation check. See SYSTEM OPERATION CHECK  . Activate air bag system. See DISABLING & ACTIVATING AIR BAG SYSTEM  .
