Removal & Installation

  1. Before proceeding, see AIR BAG SAFETY PRECAUTIONS  . Disable air bag system. See DISABLING SYSTEM  under DISABLING & ACTIVATING AIR BAG SYSTEM.
  2. Release 2 tabs and open front seat shoulder strap guide cover. Remove guide retaining nut. Remove seat belt lower anchor bolt cover and anchor bolt. Remove screw and shoulder belt guide. Using Torx Bit (501-010), remove pretensioner mounting bolt. Pivot bottom of pretensioner up and release retaining tab. Remove pretensioner.
  3. To install, reverse removal procedure. Tighten fasteners to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  . Activate air bag system. See DISABLING & ACTIVATING AIR BAG SYSTEM  .
