Test J: Restraint System-Impact Sensor Status (DTC B2296): Description

Restraints Control Module (RCM) checks all impact sensor circuits for faults. If RCM detects low resistance, open circuit, short to battery or short to ground, it will store Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) B2296 in memory and flash Code 42 on AIR BAG warning light.
