A/C Cycling Switch (ACCS)

ACCS is mounted on a Schrader-valve type fitting on evaporator-to-compressor suction line, near accumulator-drier. If low-side pressure decreases to 22-28 psi (1.5-2.0 kg/cm2 ), ACCS opens, interrupting power to A/C compressor clutch. When pressure increases to 40-47 psi (2.8-3.3 kg/cm2 ), ACCS closes, providing power to compressor clutch.

ACCS prevents compressor operation at ambient temperatures less than 40-50°F (7-10°C). ACCS maintains evaporator surface at temperature slightly warmer than freezing to prevent evaporator icing and airflow blockage under normal system operation.
