Test K: A/C Always On

  1. Turn ignition on. Turn A/C-heater system off. Perform PCM Parameter Identification WOT A/C Primary Circuit Fault (PID WACF). If PID WACF does not read YES, go to next step. If PID WACF reads YES, repair short to ground in Pink/Yellow wire from WOT. See WIRING DIAGRAMS . Recheck system operation.
  2. Turn ignition off. Disconnect A/C clutch coil 2-pin harness connector C137. Turn ignition on. Using NGS tester in ACTIVE COMMAND MODE, command PCM OUTPUTS OFF. Measure voltage between ground and A/C clutch coil harness connector C137 Gray/White wire terminal. If more than 10 volts exists, go to next step. If 10 volts or less exists, adjust compressor clutch air gap to .014-.033" (.35-.85 mm).
  3. Turn ignition off. Remove A/C WOT CUTOUT relay from relay center (located in left side of engine compartment). Turn ignition on. Measure voltage between ground and A/C clutch coil harness connector C137 Gray/White wire terminal. If more than 10 volts exists, repair short to in Gray/White wire. See WIRING DIAGRAMS . Recheck system operation. If 10 volts or less exists, replace A/C clutch relay. Recheck system operation.
