NOTE: The rear suspension lower arm bolts must be tightened with the vehicle at curb height.
NOTE: The rear suspension lower arms are interchangeable from side-to-side with "OUTBOARD" stamped on the side of the arm for positioning during installation.
  1. Position the rear suspension lower arm to the frame bracket and install a new pivot bolt and nut. Insert the bolt so the nut faces inboard. Do not tighten at this time.
  2. Position the rear suspension lower arm to the axle bracket and install a new pivot bolt and nut. Insert the bolt so the nut faces outboard. Do not tighten at this time.
  3. Raise the axle assembly to the position that compresses the shock absorber to the previously established alignment mark (curb height).
  4. Tighten the rear suspension lower arm to the frame bracket pivot bolt.
  5. Remove the special tool 014-00942 or equivalent. Lower the vehicle.
