Coil Spring: Removal
- Mark front lower control arms to frame positions. Raise and support vehicle. Remove front wheel assemblies. Remove shock absorber-to-lower control arm bolts, upper nut and bushing. Remove shock absorbers. Using Spring Compressor (D78P-5310-A), tighten forcing nut until spring is compressed and free of seat. See Fig 1.
- Remove 2 lower control arm pivot bolts, nuts and washers. Detach lower control arm from crossmember. Remove spring. If new spring is to be installed, mark position of upper and lower plates on spring. Measure compressed length and curvature of old spring.
