Removal & Installation (Crown Victoria & Grand Marquis)

  1. Before proceeding, see SERVICE PRECAUTIONS . Record USER 1 and USER 2 preset radio frequencies for reprogramming. Disconnect negative battery cable.
  2. Remove 2 back cover plugs from rear of steering wheel. Remove bolts from side of steering wheel (one on each side of steering wheel hub). Disconnect air bag module and horn wiring connectors from clockspring connector, and remove driver air bag module.
  3. To install, connect air bag module wiring connector to clockspring connector. Position air bag module on steering wheel and install bolts. Tighten fasteners to specification. See AIR BAG MODULE TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS (FORD) . Connect negative battery cable. Ensure system is functioning properly. See SYSTEM OPERATION CHECK . Reprogram USER 1 and USER 2 preset radio frequencies and set clock.
