HVAC System - Manual: Description
Manual A/C-heater system is a fixed orifice tube, cycling clutch design, with integral blower system. System components include A/C compressor, magnetic clutch, condenser core, evaporator core, accumulator-drier and connecting lines. There are 2 sources of air available to the air distribution system; outside air and recirculated air. Outside air is normally used. Recirculated air is only used in MAX A/C and OFF positions.
Air flow control doors are used to direct air flow within the heater air plenum chamber. Vacuum control motors are used to position these air flow control doors.
This vehicle is equipped with Compressor Anti-Slugging Strategy (CASS). CASS is designed to alleviate damage to compressor in case of liquid refrigerant accumulation in compressor.
