A/C System Performance: Notes

NOTE: If A/C compressor cycles at any time during this test, refer to diagnostic table. See Figure.

The system performance can be evaluated and diagnosed by analysis of compressor suction and discharge pressures. Following procedure is used to determine if system is operating at normal pressures. Procedure varies depending on ambient (shop) temperature. If ambient temperature is 100°F (38°C) or lower, go to PROCEDURE NO. 1: 100°F (38°C) OR LOWER . If ambient temperature is over 100°F (38°C), go to PROCEDURE NO. 2: OVER 100°F (38°C) .
