Evaporator Core Housing: Installation

  1. Position evaporator core housing on dash panel. Install engine side nuts. See Figure. Install screw inside vehicle. See Figure. Install screw. See Figure.
  2. Install right hand lower instrument panel insulator. See Figure. Raise and support vehicle. Install nuts. See Figure. Position fender apron and install bolts. See Figure.
  3. Install front wheel then remove support and lower vehicle. Connect connectors. See Figure. Install wire harness connectors to bracket. See Figure. Install wire harness push connector. See Figure.
  4. Position harness and install nut. See Figure. Install nuts, purge valve and bracket. See Figure.
  5. Install heater hoses. See Figure. Clean and lubricate coolant hoses with coolant hose lubricant or plain water. Connect evaporator core compressor suction line to accumulator-drier. See Figure. See SPRING LOCK COUPLING .
  6. Connect condenser core to evaporator core tube. See Figure. Connect wire harness connector. See Figure.
  7. Install blower motor switch resistor. Connect negative battery cable. Fill cooling system. Evacuate and recharge refrigerant system. See RECOVERY, EVACUATION & RECHARGING in GENERAL SERVICING PROCEDURES article in GENERAL SERVICING.
