Extension Housing Seal & Gasket: Installation

Install the extension housing and gasket.
1. Position the extension housing gasket and the extension housing.
2. Install the bolts and the nuts.

Install the vehicle speed sensor (VSS).
1. Install the vehicle speed sensor (VSS).
2. Install the bolt.
3. Connect the connector.

Using the special tool, install a new extension housing seal.

Raise and position the transmission.
Install the transmission crossmember.
1. Position the transmission crossmember.
2. Install the bolts.

Remove the high-lift transmission jack.
Install the two transmission mount nuts.

NOTE: The output shaft and the driveshaft are a balanced assembly.

Install the driveshaft.
- Align the index marks and position the driveshaft on the transmission.
- Install the driveshaft.

NOTE: To maintain driveshaft balance, install the driveshaft yoke and flange in its original position that was marked during removal.

Install the four retaining bolts.
Install the filter and transmission fluid pan. For additional information, refer to FLUID PAN, GASKET & FILTER .
