Description & Operation
Power mirrors consists of exterior mirror head with integral reversible servomotor assembly and power mirror control switch. Some models are equipped with an interior electronic dimming mirror.
Exterior power mirrors feature:
- Power mirror motors.
- Control switch.
- Heated mirror glass.
Interior dimming mirror features:
- Houses two light sensors to determine dimmer actuation.
- Functions mainly at night with limited function at dawn or dusk.
- Will change from normal to non-glare mode when headlight glare reaches dimming mirror. Dimming mirror measures brightness of light from rear of vehicle. It automatically makes a correction in reflective properties of mirror and reduces glare.
- Automatically adjusts sensitivity of dimming mirror. From non-glare mode, dimming mirror returns to normal after a short delay. Delay begins when glare goes away and eliminates readjustment of dimming mirror as traffic moves behind or around vehicle.
- Function may be disabled by pressing mirror-mounted mirror switch. A small indicator lamp is located on right side of switch.
- Will automatically lock dimming mirror into normal state whenever transmission is placed in Reverse mode to provide a clear view when backing up.
