Test F: Warning Indicator Flickers Or Is Intermittent
- Inspect generator and battery junction box connections for looseness, corrosion or bent terminals. Clean and tighten connections as necessary. If connections are okay, go to next step.
- Start engine. With engine running, inspect battery junction box fuse No. 2 (30-amp) and central junction box fuse No. 15 (10-amp) for looseness, by wiggling fuses and noting warning indicator operation. If warning indicator does not flicker, go to next step. If warning indicator flickers, repair loose connections. Retest system operation.
- Turn ignition off. Backprobe generator 3-pin connector terminal "A", by connecting a fused (15-amp) jumper wire to positive battery terminal. See Figure or Figure . Start engine. With engine running, observe warning indicator. If warning indicator flickers, replace generator. If warning indicator does not flicker, repair loose connections in circuit. Retest system operation.
