Removal & Installation

  1. Release fuel system pressure. See FUEL SYSTEM PRESSURE RELEASE  . Disconnect negative battery cable. Raise and support vehicle on hoist. Remove shield, if equipped. Disconnect fuel lines. Remove 2 bolts retaining coalescer and remove coalescer. For coalescer/fuel filter element replacement, see COALESCER/FUEL FILTER ELEMENT  .
  2. To install, reverse the removal procedure. Use NEW "O" rings. Lubricate NEW "O" rings with 5W-30 motor oil. After installation is complete, fuel lines and fittings must be leak tested. Perform appropriate leak test under FUEL SYSTEMS in SYSTEM & COMPONENT TESTING - EEC-V - NGV article.
