  1. Raise and support vehicle. Close quarter turn valve. Partially lower vehicle. Start and run engine with ALT/GAS switch in ALT position until engine stalls or automatically switches to GAS mode. Disconnect negative battery cable. Raise vehicle again. Slowly, open one fuel fitting to allow trapped gas to escape.
  2. Remove coalescer/fuel filter drain plug, and drain filter. Reinstall drain plug and "O" ring. Remove coalescer/fuel filter. See Fig 1 . Remove cover and discard "O" ring. Remove and discard filter element.
  3. NOTE: DO NOT reuse "O" rings, always replace with NEW "O" rings. "O" rings should be coated lightly with an "O" ring lubricant before installation. DO NOT use a silicone based grease.
  4. To install, reverse removal procedure. Tighten fuel fitting. See FUEL LINE FITTINGS  . After installation is complete, fuel lines and fittings must be leak tested. Perform appropriate leak test under FUEL SYSTEMS in SYSTEM & COMPONENT TESTING - EEC-V - NGV article.
