Swagging CNG High Pressure (Gyrolok-Type) Fittings
NOTE:
Swagging is required only on new fittings.
Secure NEW fitting in vice. Position NEW fitting nut, rear ferrule and front ferrule onto NEW high-pressure line. See Fig 1 . Install high-pressure line fully into NEW fitting. Remove Gyrolok fitting nut, ensuring that Gyrolok components are aligned. Reinstall high-pressure line and tighten NEW fitting in 2 stages:
- Stage 1
Tighten tube nut until snug. - Stage 2
Tighten an additional 1/2 turn.
Pressurize CNG system and inspect NEW fittings for leaks. Perform COMPRESSED NATURAL GAS LEAK TEST under FUEL SYSTEMS in SYSTEM & COMPONENT TESTING - EEC-V - NGV article.
