Rear differential screeches, whines, moans, or squeaks (4WD)

Probable Cause 

• Fluid level too low
• Incorrect or worn out fluid
• Incorrect tire rolling circumference
• Damaged pump

Remedy 

• Add recommended fluid - Refer to: Rear Differential Fluid Inspection and Replacement (4WD) Rear Differential Fluid Inspection and Replacement (AWD) 
• Drain and fill the differential with the recommended fluid - Refer to: Rear Differential Fluid Inspection and Replacement (4WD) Rear Differential Fluid Inspection and Replacement (AWD) 
• Adjust tire pressure or replace tires
• Replace the torque control differential (TCD) case kit - Refer to: Rear Differential Disassembly and Reassembly (4WD) Rear Differential Disassembly and Reassembly (AWD)
