While playing SiriusXM Radio, if the sound cuts out for several seconds when driving through the same open area, the likely cause could be interference from local cellular towers. And because of differences in XM antenna design, the amount of that interference can vary from model to model.

If you get a vehicle in for this issue and you find from your troubleshooting that cellular interference is the likely cause, don't try replacing any parts; it won't make a difference.
