Moonroof Motor-Control Unit Input Test
NOTE:
- Before testing, make sure the No. B6 (7.5 A)* and No. B11 (20 A) fuses in the under-dash fuse/relay box are OK.
- If the moonroof works OK manually, but will not work in AUTO, or reverses frequently (obstacle detection), reset the moonroof control unit before proceeding with the input test.
| *: Without door multiplex control unit |
1. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode
2. Disconnect the following connector.
| Moonroof control unit/motor 14P connector |
3. Inspect the connector and socket terminals to be sure they are all making good contact:
- If the terminals are bent, loose, or corroded, repair them as necessary, and recheck the system.
- If the terminals are OK, go to step 4.
4. With the connectors still disconnected, do the following input tests:
- If any test indicates a problem, find and correct the cause, then recheck the system.
- If all the input tests prove OK, go to step 5.
| Cavity | Wire | Test condition | Test: Desired result | Possible cause if desired result is not obtained |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 11*1 | GRN | Disconnect the under-dash fuse/relay box connector R (8P) | Check for continuity between terminal No. 11 and under-dash fuse/relay box connector R (8P) terminal No. 6:There should be continuity. | An open or high resistance in the wire |
| Check for continuity to ground:There should be no continuity. | A short to ground in the wire |
*1: Without door multiplex control unit*2: With door multiplex control unit
| Cavity | Wire | Test condition | Test: Desired result | Possible cause if desired result is not obtained |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 5*1 | GRN | Jump the SCS line with the HDS, and wait more than 1 minute Disconnect the PCM connector A (51P) |
Check for continuity between terminal No. 5 and PCM connector A (51P) terminal No. 25:There should be continuity. | An open or high resistance in the wire |
| Check for continuity to ground:There should be no continuity. | A short to ground in the wire | |||
| 12*2 | GRY | Disconnect these connectors:
|
Check for continuity between terminal No. 12 and power window master switch 37P connector terminal No. 36: There should be continuity | An open in the LIN(P/W) wire |
| Check for continuity between terminal No. 12 and front passenger's power window switch 37P connector terminal No. 34:There should be continuity. | An open in the LIN(P/W) wire | |||
| Check for continuity to ground:There should be no continuity. | A short to ground in the LIN (P/W) wire |
*1: Without door multiplex control unit*2: With door multiplex control unit
5. Reconnect the connector, and do the following input tests:
- If any test indicates a problem, find and correct the cause, then recheck the system.
- If all the input tests prove OK, replace the moonroof control unit/motor .
