Rear Differential Oil Seal Replacement(AWD): Replacement

Driveshaft Side 

• 1. Vehicle - Lift
• 2. Rear Differential - Remove - Refer to: Rear Differential Removal and Installation(4WD) Rear Differential Removal and Installation(AWD) 
• 3. Oil Seal - Remove

  1. Install a new oil seal (A) even and flush with the machined edge of the differential carrier assembly using the 40 mm driver handle.

• 5. Rear Differential - Install - Refer to: Rear Differential Removal and Installation(4WD) Rear Differential Removal and Installation(AWD) 

  Propeller Shaft Side 

• 1. Vehicle - Lift
• 2. Rear Differential Fluid - Drain - Refer to: Rear Differential Fluid Inspection and Replacement(4WD)Rear Differential Fluid Inspection and Replacement(AWD)
• 3. No. 2 Propeller Shaft and Protector - Remove
• 4. Companion Flange - Remove - Refer to: Rear Differential Disassembly and Reassembly(4WD)Rear Differential Disassembly and Reassembly(AWD)
• 5. Oil Seal - Remove

• 6. Oil Seal - Install

  1. Install a new oil seal (A) even and flush with the rear differential oil pump cover using the 40 mm I.D. driver handle.

• 7. Companion Flange - Install - Refer to: Rear Differential Disassembly and Reassembly(4WD)Rear Differential Disassembly and Reassembly(AWD)
• 8. No. 2 Propeller Shaft and Protector - Install
• 9. Rear Differential Fluid - Refill - Refer to: Rear Differential Fluid Inspection and Replacement(4WD)Rear Differential Fluid Inspection and Replacement(AWD)
