Park Assist System
PARK ASSIST SYSTEM
The parking assist system may be classified as follows:
- Four channel system
- Eight channel system
This vehicle may have four Park Assist Sensors (PAS) (four channel system) located in the rear fascia or eight PAS (eight channel system) located in the rear and front fascia of the vehicle. The PAS send ultrasound waves when the vehicle is travelling forwards or backwards at low speeds. The PAS send and receive ultrasonic waves from the echo coming back from any objects placed in the path of the vehicle. The control unit processes data from the PAS and performs a data triangulation to determine the relative distance, depending on the time elapsed between the output signal and the return signal. Optical obstacle approach warnings are provided on a 6.5 inch or 8 inch display to inform the operator of the vehicle that an object is nearby.
In case of system fault an audio signal is output and, when the gear is engaged, the display shows a dedicated message.
The Park Assist Module (PAM) is located in the trunk on the left-hand side.
NOTE: The eight channel system is standard equipment on the Quadrifoglio Verde version. For other versions it is an available option.
PARK ASSIST MODULE
Four channel system
The PAM has the following characteristics:
- It receives power supply for its operation
- It provides power supply to the four PAS
- It receives signals from the four ultrasonic PAS
- It manages the presence of a possible trailer: it is configured to deactivate the rear sensors when a trailer is present (if equipped with trailer tow).
- It communicates and transmits data over the high-speed Controller Area Network (CAN) - Chassis (CH) data bus network.

Eight channel system
The semi-automatic PAM has the following characteristics:
- It receives power supply for its operation.
- It supplies power to the eight PAS.
- It receives signals from the eight ultrasound PAS.
- It manages the presence of a possible trailer: it is configured to deactivate the rear sensors when a trailer is present (if equipped with trailer tow).
- It communicates and transmits data over the high-speed CAN-CH data bus network.

PARK ASSIST SENSORS
The ultrasound sensor technology is based on the use of piezoelectric transducers which are able to transmit and to receive. The transducer generates and emits an ultrasonic wave that is reflected by an obstacle and is retransmitted to the transducer. The ultrasound sensor is an active type sensor which, in addition to the transducer, contains electronics able to drive, amplify and filter the received signal and to perform an analogue/digital conversion to communicate with the PAM.
There are four ultrasonic PAS located in the rear fascia.

There are four PAS located on the front fascia when the vehicle is equipped with the eight channel system.

- Terminal 1 - Power supply (V)
- Terminal 2 - Signal
- Terminal 3 - Ground.

PARK ASSIST SWITCH
The vehicle operator may deactivate the front PAS obstacle detection function by pressing the switch on the headlight switch control panel which is located to the left of the steering column.
