Removal And Installation: Removal
- Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable.
- Remove the door glass. Refer to GLASS, DOOR, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
- Remove the exterior handle. Refer to HANDLE, EXTERIOR, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION Refer to, HANDLE, EXTERIOR, SUPPORT, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION Refer to, HANDLE, INTERIOR, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
- Remove the handle mounting screw (1a), then remove the seal (1b) by releasing its retainers.
- Disconnect the wire harness connector (1a) for the door.
- Release the door wiring bulkhead seal (2a) and position it back inside the door frame.
- Remove the latch screws (3a).
- Remove the internal guide screws (4a).
- Remove the screws (5a) attaching the carrier plate frame (5b).
- Slightly disconnect the from part of the carrier plate frame (5b) and make the half-connector (1a) with the wiring (6a) go back inside the door frame.
- Carefully extract the carrier plate (5b) complete with the latch assembly from the door frame.
INSTALLATION
- Check that the surrounding seal (1a) is not damaged.
- Carefully insert the carrier plate (1a) in the door frame complete with the latch assembly.
- Bring the half-connector (2a) with wiring (2b) out of the door frame.
- Engage the door wiring bulkhead seal (3a) with the door frame.
- Tighten the internal guide screws (4a).
- Tighten the latch screws (5a) to the proper specification. Refer to TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS .
- Tighten the carrier plate frame (1a) bolts (6a) to the proper specification. Refer to TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS .
- Connect the door wire harness connector (2a).
- Place the exterior handle seal (1b) and secure it with its retainers, then tighten the screw (1a).
- Install the exterior handle. Refer to HANDLE, EXTERIOR, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION Refer to, HANDLE, EXTERIOR, SUPPORT, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION Refer to, HANDLE, INTERIOR, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
- Install the door glass. Refer to GLASS, DOOR, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
- Connect the negative battery cable.
