2.0L Removal And Installation

REMOVAL

1. Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable.
2. Remove the headlights. Refer to UNIT, FRONT LAMP, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
3. Remove the bolts (1a) from the headlamp mounting crossmember to front bumper reinforcement bracket (1b).
4. Remove the headlamp mounting crossmember to front bumper reinforcement bracket (1b) from the air duct (1c).

5. If equipped. disconnect the wiring connector (1a) from the hood open sensor (1b).
6. Disconnect the latch cable (2a) from the retainers (2b). Disengage hood release cable from the safety latch lever and latch.
7. Remove the bolts (3a) and remove the headlight mounting crossmember (3b).

INSTALLATION

1. Position the crossmember (1a) and install the bolts (1b), then tighten them to the proper specification. Refer to TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS .
2. Position the hood open sensor wiring harness (3a) and secure it in the retainers (3b).
3. Connect the hood safety cable (3a) to the latch lever and hood latch and connect the cable to the retainers (3b).
4. Connect the wiring connector (4a).

5. Position the headlamp mounting crossmember to front bumper reinforcement brackets (1b).
6. Install the headlamp mounting crossmember to front bumper reinforcement brackets bolts (1a), and tighten to the proper specification. Refer to TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS .
7. Install the headlights. Refer to UNIT, FRONT LAMP, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
8. Connect the negative battery cable.
