Removal And Installation: Base: Removal

Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to HOISTING, STANDARD PROCEDURE .
Remove the front wheel splash shield. Refer to SHIELD, SPLASH, FRONT WHEELHOUSE, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .

Remove the outer tie rod end to knuckle mounting nut (1a). and separate the outer tie rod end (1b) from the knuckle.

Using special tool (special tool #8677, Remover, Ball Joint) (1a) separate the outer tie rod end (1b) from the knuckle

Holding the tension strut stud (1a) remove and DISCARD the tension strut (1c) to knuckle mounting nuts (1b).

Using special tool (special tool #2032500020, Remover, Front Suspension Ball Joint), (1a) separate the tension strut joint (1b) from the knuckle.

Remove and DISCARD the tension strut (1b) to crossmember mounting bolt (1a).
Remove the tension strut (1b) from the vehicle.
