Removal And Installation: Removal

NOTE:

NOTE:

Removal process is the same for both sides of the vehicle.

  1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to HOISTING, STANDARD PROCEDURE .
  2. Remove the tire and wheel assembly. Refer to REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
  3. Using a brake pedal holding tool, depress the brake pedal past its first 25 mm (1 inch) of travel and hold pedal in this depressed position. Install. This will isolate the master cylinder from the brake hydraulic system and will not allow the brake fluid to drain out of the master cylinder reservoir when the brake lines are opened.
  4. Remove the front brake pads. Refer to PADS, BRAKE, FRONT, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION  or PADS, BRAKE, REAR, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .

  5. Remove the brake tube nuts (1a) and remove the front brake tube (1b).

  6. Remove the brake caliper bolts (1a) and remove the front brake caliper (1b) from the vehicle.
