Front Base: Removal

NOTE:

When replacing the front brake disc, connect the scan tool to the Data Link Connector (DLC), select "ABS" and start the following procedures: BRAKE DISC.

  1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to HOISTING, STANDARD PROCEDURE .
  2. Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable.
  3. Remove the tire and wheel assembly. Refer to REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .

  4. Disconnect the brake pad wear sensor electrical harness connector (1)

  5. Disengage the wheel speed sensor from the retainer (1).
  6. Remove the brake line bracket (2b) to knuckle mounting bolts (2a)

  7. Remove the brake caliper to knuckle mounting bolt (1a) and remove the counterweight (1b).
  8. Remove the brake caliper and position the caliper to the side, without disconnecting the brake line.

  9. Remove the brake rotor retaining bolt (1a) and remove the brake rotor (1b) from the vehicle.
