Left Side: Removal

NOTE:

If the Variable Valve Timing (VVT) solenoid needs to be replaced, connect the diagnosis scan tool to the vehicle diagnosis socket, go to Powertrain Control Module (PCM) in the "Miscellaneous functions" menu and start the "Reset adaptive parameters" procedure.

  1. Disconnect the left cylinder head VVT wire harness connector (1) for the exhaust side.
  2. Remove the bolt (2a) and the left cylinder head VVT solenoid (2b), exhaust side, with the O-ring (2c).
  3. Perform the same operation for the removal of the left cylinder head VVT solenoid, intake side.
