Right Side: Removal

NOTE:

If the Variable Valve Timing (VVT) solenoid needs to be replaced, connect the diagnosis scan tool to the vehicle diagnosis socket, go to Powertrain Control Module (PCM) in the "Miscellaneous functions" menu and start the "Reset adaptive parameters" procedure.

  1. Remove the High Temperature (HT) pressurized coolant bottle. Refer to BOTTLE, PRESSURIZED COOLANT, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .

  2. Disconnect the right cylinder head VVT wire harness connector (1) for the exhaust side.
  3. Remove the bolt (2a) and the right cylinder head VVT solenoid (2b), exhaust side, with the O-ring (2c).
  4. Perform the same operation for the removal of the right cylinder head VVT solenoid, intake side.
