Removal And Installation: Removal

1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to HOISTING, STANDARD PROCEDURE .
2. Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable.
3. Remove the front wheels. Refer to REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
4. Remove both outer tail lights. Refer to LAMP, TAIL, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
5. Remove the rear fascia. Refer to FASCIA, REAR, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION  or FASCIA, REAR, LOWER, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
6. Release wiring (1b) retainers (1a).
7. Remove the screws and the washers (2).
8. Remove the rivets (3) using a drill.
9. Release and remove the center support bracket (4).
10. Remove the trunk trim. Refer to PANEL, TRUNK TRIM, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION or PANEL, TRUNK TRIM, REAR, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
11. Using an aspirator, remove the residues of any rivets fallen inside the body.

INSTALLATION

1. Position and fit the center support (1) in place.
2. Position the washers and tighten the screws (2).
3. Install new rivets (3).
4. Engage the wiring (4b) retainers (4a).
5. Install the trunk trim. Refer to PANEL, TRUNK TRIM, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION or PANEL, TRUNK TRIM, REAR, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
6. Remove the rear fascia. Refer to FASCIA, REAR, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION  or FASCIA, REAR, LOWER, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
7. Remove both outer tail lights. Refer to LAMP, TAIL, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
8. Remove the front wheels. Refer to REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
9. Connect the negative battery cable.
