Drive Shaft - Front

REMOVAL 

1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to HOISTING, STANDARD PROCEDURE .

   Index mark the drive shaft to transfer case for installation purposes.

2. Remove and DISCARD  the front drive shaft (1b) to transfer case bolts (1a).

3. Release the dust seal ring (1a) from the front drive shaft (1b).

4. Release the circlip (1b) locking the front drive shaft (1c).

5. Remove the front drive shaft (1).

INSTALLATION

1. Install the front drive shaft (1) in the vehicle and align the index marks made during removal.

2. Engage the circlip (1b) locking the front drive shaft (1c) to the front axle.

3. Install the dust seal (1a) to the front drive shaft (1b).

4. Install the front drive shaft (1b) to transfer case bolts (1a) and tighten to the proper specification. Refer to TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS .
5. Remove the support and lower the vehicle.
