Catalytic Converter Heat Shield

REMOVAL 

1. Drain the engine cooling system. Refer to DRAINING AND FILLING THE ENGINE COOLING SYSTEM .
2. Remove the heater supply hose.
3. Remove the coolant tube from cylinder head to the cooling system control valve. Refer to HOSE, COOLANT, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
4. Remove the upper oxygen sensor. Refer to SENSOR, OXYGEN, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .

5. Remove the four heat shield bolts (2) and nut (3) remove the catalytic converter heat shield (1).

INSTALLATION 

1. Install the catalytic converter heat shield in position and tighten the bolts.
2. Install the upper oxygen sensor. Refer to SENSOR, OXYGEN, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
3. Install the coolant tube to the cylinder head and to the cooling system control valve. Refer to HOSE, COOLANT, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
4. Install the heater supply hose.
5. Fill the engine cooling system. Refer to DRAINING AND FILLING THE ENGINE COOLING SYSTEM .
