Rear Exhaust Muffler Heat Shield

REMOVAL 

1. Remove the rear bumper fascia. Refer to FASCIA, REAR, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION or FASCIA, REAR, LOWER, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
2. Remove the rear belly pan. Refer to BELLY PAN, ENGINE, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION or BELLY PAN, REAR, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION or BELLY PAN, REAR SUSPENSION, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION or BELLY PAN, SIDE, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .

3. Apply a hydraulic column lift (1a) under the exhaust muffler assembly (1b) to support it in the following phase in which it is lowered slightly.
4. Remove the bolts (2a) and the muffler's isolator.
5. Carefully use the hydraulic column lift (1a) slightly lower the exhaust muffler assembly (1b) with the exhaust pipe.

6. Working above the exhaust muffler (1a), remove the nuts (1b) and the heat shield (1c).

INSTALLATION 

1. Check that the heat shield is not damaged.
2. Working above the exhaust silencer, Install the heat shield and securely tighten the nuts.

3. Carefully use the hydraulic column lift (1a) raise the exhaust silencer assembly (1b) with the exhaust pipe.
4. Install the muffler's isolator and tighten the bolts (2a) to the proper specification.. Refer to TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  .
5. Remove the hydraulic column lift (1a).
6. Install the rear belly pan. Refer to BELLY PAN, ENGINE, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION or BELLY PAN, REAR, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION or BELLY PAN, REAR SUSPENSION, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION or BELLY PAN, SIDE, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
7. Install the rear bumper fascia. Refer to FASCIA, REAR, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION or FASCIA, REAR, LOWER, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
