Removal And Installation

REMOVAL

Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable. If equipped with an Intelligent Battery Sensor (IBS), disconnect the IBS connector first before disconnecting the negative battery cable.
Remove the Volume/Tune Control Switch Assembly. Refer to BEZEL, SHIFTER, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .

Remove the shifter bezel (1b) using a (special tool #C-4755, Trim Stick).

Remove the shifter (1b) nuts (1a).

Disconnect the shifter wire harness connector (1a) and remove the shifter from the vehicle.

INSTALLATION

Position the shifter (1b) in place in the vehicle and connect the shifter wire harness connector (1a).

Place the shifter (1a) in position and tighten the shifter nuts (1b) to the proper specification. Refer to TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .

Install the shifter bezel (1a).
Install the Volume/Tune Control Switch Assembly. Refer to BEZEL, SHIFTER, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
Connect the negative battery cable. If equipped with an Intelligent Battery Sensor (IBS), connect the IBS connector.
