Removal And Installation

REMOVAL 

1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to HOISTING, STANDARD PROCEDURE .
2. Remove the torque converter. Refer to TORQUE CONVERTER, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
   NOTE:

   Take care not to damage the seal sealing surface during seal removal.

   NOTE:

   The oil seal is ruined during the removal operation so it must always be replaced.

3. Remove the torque converter hub seal (1) using a suitable tool.
   NOTE:

   Take care not to mar or damage the sealing surface of the pump upon removing the torque converter hub seal. 

INSTALLATION 

1. Clean and inspect the seal sealing surface.

2. Using the tool 2000042218 (1), install a new torque converter hub seal.
3. Install the torque converter. Refer to TORQUE CONVERTER, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
4. Install the transmission. Refer to REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
5. Remove the support and lower the vehicle.
