Transfer Case Fluid Fill

The transfer case oil is not a scheduled maintenance service.

1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to HOISTING, STANDARD PROCEDURE .
2. Remove the belly pan. Refer to BELLY PAN, ENGINE, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION or BELLY PAN, REAR, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION or BELLY PAN, REAR SUSPENSION, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION or BELLY PAN, SIDE, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .

3. Remove the transfer case fill plug (1) and check the oil level is just below the bottom edge of the fill hole.
4. If necessary fill the transfer case to the bottom of the fill plug hole using the specified fluid. Refer to CAPACITIES AND RECOMMENDED FLUIDS, SPECIFICATIONS .
5. Clean and tighten the transfer case fill plug to the proper specification. Refer to TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS .
6. Install the belly pan. Refer to BELLY PAN, ENGINE, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION or BELLY PAN, REAR, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION or BELLY PAN, REAR SUSPENSION, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION or BELLY PAN, SIDE, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
7. Remove the support and lower the vehicle.
