Diagnostic Test
- CHECK FOR AN ACTIVE CHARGING DTC
- Verify that the battery is fully charged with a DVOM.
- With the scan tool, compare the Battery Voltage listed under "Data" in the RFH View to that of the PCM. If the battery is not fully charged, correct this condition before proceeding.
- With the scan tool, read PCM DTCs and record on the repair order.
Are there any Battery or Charging System DTCs?
Yes
- Repair the PCM DTC(s) in accordance with Service Information. Refer to DTC INDEX .
No
- Go To 2
- CHECK THE RF HUB
- With the scan tool, read RF Hub DTCs and record on the repair order.
- Start the engine and run for two minutes.
- With the scan tool, read RF Hub DTCs.
Is the DTC active?
Yes
- Go To 3
No
- Perform the TESTING FOR AN INTERMITTENT CONDITION procedure. Refer to TESTING FOR AN INTERMITTENT CONDITION .
- CHECK THE (A901) FUSED B(+) OR GROUND CIRCUIT FOR HIGH RESISTANCE
- Disconnect the Radio Frequency Hub (RF Hub) Module C1 harness connector.
- Test the (A901) Fused B(+) circuit for high resistance by connecting a 12-volt test light between the Fused B(+) circuit and the (Z908) Ground circuit at the RF Hub C1 harness connector.NOTE:
The test light must illuminate brightly. Compare the brightness to that of a direct connection to the battery.
Does the test light illuminate brightly?
Yes

No
- Test the (A901) Fused B(+) and the (Z908) Ground circuits to determine which one has the high resistance. Repair the (A901) Fused B(+) circuit or the (Z221) Ground circuit for high resistance.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to BODY VERIFICATION TEST .
- CHECK RELATED HARNESS CONNECTIONS
- Disconnect all RF Hub harness connectors.
- Disconnect all related in-line harness connections (if equipped).
- Disconnect the related component harness connectors.
- Inspect harness connectors, component connectors, and all male and female terminals for the following conditions:
- Proper connector installation.
- Damaged connector locks.
- Corrosion.
- Other signs of water intrusion.
- Weather seal damage (if equipped).
- Bent terminals.
- Overheating due to a poor connection (terminal may be discolored due to excessive current draw).
- Terminals that have been pushed back into the connector cavity.
- Perform a terminal drag test on each connector terminal to verify proper terminal tension.
Repair any conditions that are found.
- Reconnect all RF Hub Module harness connectors. Be certain that all harness connectors are fully seated and the connector locks are fully engaged.
- Reconnect all in-line harness connectors (if equipped). Be certain that all connectors are fully seated and the connector locks are fully engaged.
- Reconnect all related component harness connectors. Be certain that all connectors are fully seated and the connector locks are fully engaged.
- With the scan tool, erase DTCs.
- Using the recorded Vehicle Scan Report, along with the When Monitored and Set Conditions above, operate the vehicle in the conditions that set the DTC.
- With the scan tool, read RF Hub DTCs.
Did the DTC return?
Yes
- Replace the Radio Frequency Hub (RF Hub) Module in accordance with the Service Information. Refer to MODULE, RADIO FREQUENCY (RF HUB), REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
- Perform the RADIO FREQUENCY HUB VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to RADIO FREQUENCY HUB (RF HUB) VERIFICATION TEST .
No
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to BODY VERIFICATION TEST .
- Test complete.
