Diagnostic Test

- LOW PRESSURE FUEL CIRCUIT LEAK CHECK
- Check for leaks in the low pressure fuel circuit.
Are there any leaks?
Yes
- Repair the leaks as necessary and restore correct operation.
No
- Go to 2.
- Check for leaks in the low pressure fuel circuit.
- CONNECTION CHECK ON FUEL LOW PRESSURE AND TEMPERATURE SENSOR AND ENGINE CONTROL MODULE
- Check for loose, damaged or corroded connections on the low pressure fuel and temperature sensor or on the master engine control module.
Are there any loose or damaged connections?
Yes
- Repair the wiring connections as necessary.
No
- Go to 3.
- Check for loose, damaged or corroded connections on the low pressure fuel and temperature sensor or on the master engine control module.
- WIRING CHECK BETWEEN FUEL LOW PRESSURE AND TEMPERATURE SENSOR AND ENGINE CONTROL MODULE
- Check the wiring for an open circuit or high resistance between the low pressure fuel and temperature sensor and PIN 19 of the connector on the engine side of the master engine control unit.
Is there a high resistance or open condition in the wiring?
Yes
- Repair the open circuit or high resistance in the wiring.
No
- Go to 4.
- Check the wiring for an open circuit or high resistance between the low pressure fuel and temperature sensor and PIN 19 of the connector on the engine side of the master engine control unit.
- WIRING CHECK BETWEEN FUEL LOW PRESSURE AND TEMPERATURE SENSOR AND ENGINE CONTROL MODULE
- Check for a short circuit in the wiring between the low pressure fuel and temperature sensor and PIN 19 of the connector on the engine side of the master engine control unit.
Is there a short circuit in the wiring?
Yes
- Repair the short circuit in the wiring.
No
- Go to 5.
- Check for a short circuit in the wiring between the low pressure fuel and temperature sensor and PIN 19 of the connector on the engine side of the master engine control unit.
- FUEL LOW PRESSURE AND TEMPERATURE SENSOR OPERATION CHECK
- Check that the fuel low pressure and temperature sensor is working properly.
Is the Fuel pressure and temperature sensor operating properly?
Yes
- Go to 6.
No
- Replace the fuel low pressure sensor.
- Check that the fuel low pressure and temperature sensor is working properly.
- CHECK LOW PRESSURE FUEL PUMP OPERATION
- Check that the low pressure fuel pump is working correctly.
Is the Low pressure fuel pump operating properly?
Yes
- End of diagnosis.
No
- Replace the low pressure fuel pump.
- Check that the low pressure fuel pump is working correctly.
