Theory Of Operation
Stop Lamps: When the brake pedal is depressed, the Body Control Module (BCM) provides a voltage output, through the Left and Right Stop Lamp Driver circuits, to the Left and Right Tail Lamp Assemblies and the Left and Right Decklid/Liftgate Tail Lamp Assemblies. The BCM voltage output is also provided to the Center High Mounted Stop Lamp (CHMSL).
Turn Lamps: When the BCM receives a hardwired input from the Left Multifunction Switch, requesting Left or Right Turn Lamp activation, the BCM provides a voltage output through the Left or Right Turn Lamp Driver circuits to the Left or Right Front Lamp Assembly and Tail Lamp Assembly.
Park Lamps: When the BCM receives an input from the Headlamp Switch, requesting Park Lamp illumination, the BCM provides a voltage output to the Left and Right Front Lamp Assemblies. The BCM voltage output is also provided to the Left and Right Tail Lamp Assemblies, the Left and Right Decklid/Liftgate Tail Lamp Assemblies and to the License Plate Lamps.
A ground path is provided to the Left and Right Tail Lamp Assemblies, the Left and Right Decklid/Liftgate Tail Lamp Assemblies, and to the CHMSL through the wiring harness to the body sheet metal.
