Removal And Installation: Installation
- Check that the LRSM (2) is not damaged.NOTE:
Do not touch the sensitive surface of the LRSM (1). Avoid the sensitive surface of the LRSM coming into contact with dirt or fluids.
NOTE:The layer of silicone material is protected by a film, that is to be removed before the new component is installed.
- Clean the housing for the LRSM in the windshield thoroughly, using a degreasing product.
- Place the LRSM in position.
- Install the retaining clip (3a) for the LRSM and secure the side hooks (3b).NOTE:
After the NEW LRSM is installed, check that no air bubbles remain between the glass and LRSM. Apply a load of at least 50 N (11 lbf) to be certain that any bubbles are eliminated.
- Connect the wire harness connector (4).
- Install the inside rearview mirror trim. Refer to MIRROR, REARVIEW, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
- Connect the negative battery cable.
