Theory Of Operation

The Body Control Module (BCM) is the Local Interconnect Network (LIN) master for the Rear View Camera Module (RVCM) and monitors the LIN Bus 2 circuit. If a fault is detected within the Rear View Camera Module (RVCM), the BCM will set a Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC).

When the Gear Selector is in the Reverse position, the BCM sends voltage to the Rear View Camera Module (RVCM), through the Fused B(+) circuit. The Rear View Camera Module (RVCM) uses a ground (Camera Shield) circuit, which is attached to the body.
