Theory Of Operation

The Body Control Module (BCM) provides a voltage output through the Left and Right High Beam Driver circuits to the Front or Tail Lamp Assemblies. A ground path for the Front and Tail Lamp Assemblies is present through the harness to the body sheet metal.

The Left Multifunction Switch includes two internal resistors. Depending on the selected position, a specific resistance value is applied to the BCM input signal. The resistance values below are approximate.

Left Multifunction Switch Resistance Values

• Center Position (Resting):  Open
• Rearward Position (High Beam Flash/Optical Horn):  274.0 Ohms
• Forward Position (High Beams On):  1205.0 Ohms
