      • Go To  4
  4. CHECK FOR THE (K162) FUEL RAIL PRESSURE 2 SIGNAL CIRCUIT SHORTED TO THE (K852) 5-VOLT SUPPLY CIRCUIT
    1. Turn the ignition off.
    2. Disconnected PCM-2 C1 harness connector.
    3. Check for continuity between the (K162) Fuel Rail Pressure 2 Signal circuit and the (K852) 5-Volt Supply circuit at the FRPS 2 harness connector.

Is there continuity between the (K162) Fuel Rail Pressure 2 Signal circuit and the (K852) 5-Volt Supply circuit?

      Yes

      • Repair the short between the (K162) Fuel Rail Pressure 2 Signal circuit and the (K852) 5-Volt Supply circuit.
      • Perform the POWERTRAIN VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to POWERTRAIN VERIFICATION TEST .

      No

      • Go To  4
  5. CHECK THE (K162) FUEL RAIL PRESSURE 2 SIGNAL CIRCUIT FOR AN OPEN/HIGH RESISTANCE
    1. Check for continuity of the (K162) Fuel Rail Pressure 2 Signal circuit between the FRPS 2 harness connector and the PCM-2 C1 harness connector.

Is the resistance below 3.0 Ohms?

      Yes

      • Go To  6

      No

      • Repair the (K162) Fuel Rail Pressure 2 Signal circuit for an open or high resistance.
      • Perform the POWERTRAIN VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to POWERTRAIN VERIFICATION TEST .
  6. CHECK THE (K900) SENSOR GROUND FOR AN OPEN/HIGH RESISTANCE
    1. Connect the GPEC Adaptor to the PCM C2 harness connector.
    2. Check for continuity of the (K900) Ground circuit between the FRPS 2 harness connector and the PCM-2 C1 harness connector.

Is the resistance below 3.0 Ohms?

      Yes

      • Go To  7

      No

      • Repair the (K900) Sensor Ground circuit for an open or high resistance.
      • Perform the POWERTRAIN VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to POWERTRAIN VERIFICATION TEST .
  7. CHECK THE ABILITY OF THE PCM TO READ THE FUEL RAIL PRESSURE SENSOR 2 SIGNAL
    1. Turn the ignition off.
    2. Reconnect the PCM-2 C1 harness connectors.
    3. Turn the ignition on.
    4. While monitoring the scan tool, connect a jumper between the (K162) Fuel Rail Pressure 2 Signal circuit and the (K914) Sensor Ground circuit at the FRPS harness connector.
      NOTE:

The P01C0-FUEL RAIL PRESSURE SENSOR B CIRCUIT LOW DTC should become active or pending with the jumper in place.

Does the DTC display as described above?

      Yes

      • Replace the Fuel Rail Pressure Sensor 2 in accordance with the Service Information.
      • Perform the POWERTRAIN VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to POWERTRAIN VERIFICATION TEST .
