Water Pump Inlet Tube

REMOVAL 

1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to HOISTING, STANDARD PROCEDURE .
2. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
3. Remove the catalytic converter and catalytic converter mounting bracket. Refer to CONVERTER, CATALYTIC, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .

4. Disconnect the quick connector (1) and remove the engine coolant inlet hose from the water pump inlet tube.

5. Loosen the clamp (1) and remove the heat shield for the engine coolant outlet pipe from the EGR heat exchanger.

6. Remove the screws (1) from the water pump inlet tube.

7. Loosen the clamps (1a), remove the water pump inlet tube (1b) from the water pump and remove the coolant hoses (1c) from the water pump inlet tube.

8. Remove the O-ring (1) from the water pump inlet tube.

INSTALLATION 

1. Position the water pump inlet tube to the water pump with a NEW  O-ring, install the coolant hoses and tighten the clamps.
2. Install and tighten the water pump inlet tube screws.
3. Install the heat shield for the engine coolant outlet pipe to the EGR heat exchanger and tighten the clamp.
4. Install the quick connector of the engine coolant inlet hose to the water pump inlet tube.
5. Install the catalytic converter mounting bracket and catalytic converter. Refer to CONVERTER, CATALYTIC, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
6. Fill the cooling system. Refer to DRAINING AND FILLING THE ENGINE COOLING SYSTEM  .
7. Connect the negative battery cable.
8. Remove the support and lower the vehicle.
