Engine Mounting On Stand - AWD

REMOVAL

1. Install the (special tool #10272, Tool, Flywheel Locking) (1) or the Flywheel Lock 1860846001.
2. Remove the bolts (2a) and the engine flexplate (2b). Discard the bolts, they can not be reused.
3. Remove any sealant residues from the flexplate bolt holes.

4. Remove the bolts (1a) and the right side front engine mount bracket (1b).

5. Remove the bolts (1a) and the transfer case (1b).

6. If available, install the Engine Overhaul Stand 1871000000 (1b) on the engine block (1a).

7. If the Engine Overhaul Stand 1871000000 is not available, install the maintenance stand mounting bracket (1) on the engine block.
8. With the aid of a hydraulic lift, install the engine block and mounting bracket to the maintenance stand.

INSTALLATION 

1. With the aid of a hydraulic lift, remove the engine from the maintenance stand and remove the maintenance stand mounting bracket from the engine block.

2. Install the front differential (1a) and tighten the bolts (1b) to the proper specification Refer to TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS .

3. Install the right side front engine mount bracket (1a) and tighten the NEW  bolts (1b) to the proper specification Refer to TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  .

4. Install the engine flexplate (1a) and tighten the NEW  bolts (1b) to the proper specification Refer to TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  .
5. Remove the (special tool #10272, Tool, Flywheel Locking) (2) or the Flywheel Lock 1860846001.
