Removal And Installation: FLEXPLATE

REMOVAL

CAUTION:

Do not use an impact socket or a thick walled socket when removing or installing the flexplate retaining bolts, damage to the crankshaft, internal engine or the transmission may occur.

  1. Remove the powertrain assembly and separate the engine from the transmission. Refer to REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
  2. Install the (special tool #10272, Tool, Flywheel Locking) (1) or the Flywheel Lock 1860846001.
  3. Remove the bolts (2a) and remove the flexplate (2b).
  4. Using a suitable tool clean all sealant from the bolt holes.

INSTALLATION 

CAUTION:

Do not use an impact socket or a thick walled socket when removing or installing the flexplate retaining bolts, damage to the crankshaft, internal engine or the transmission may occur.

  1. Remove all sealant residues.

  2. Install the flexplate (1a) and tighten the new bolts (1b) to the proper specification Refer to TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  .
  3. Remove the (special tool #10272, Tool, Flywheel Locking) or the Flywheel Lock 1860846001.
  4. Install the transmission to the engine and install the powertrain in the vehicle. Refer to REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
