Removal And Installation

REMOVAL 

1. Remove the vibration damper from the front of the crankshaft Refer to DAMPER, VIBRATION, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .

   NOTE:

   Be careful not to damage the oil seal seat when removing the oil seal.

2. Remove the oil seal (1) from the timing cover.
   NOTE:

   The oil seal is ruined during the removal operation so it must always be replaced.

INSTALLATION 

1. Remove all sealant residues.

2. Install a new oil seal on the timing cover using the (special tool #9506, Installer, Oil Seal) (1) or the Timing Cover Oil Seal Fitting Tool 2000040245.
3. Install the vibration damper on the front of the crankshaft. Refer to DAMPER, VIBRATION, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
