Engine Oil Filter

REMOVAL 

1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to HOISTING, STANDARD PROCEDURE .
2. Remove the engine belly pan. Refer to BELLY PAN, ENGINE, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
3. Position a drain pan under the oil filter.

4. Using a suitable oil filter wrench, rotate the oil filter (1) counterclockwise to remove it from the cylinder block oil filter boss.
   NOTE:

   Make sure the filter gasket was removed with the filter.

INSTALLATION 

1. Apply a coat of engine oil on the filter thread and on the new filter gasket
2. Install the oil filter until the gasket contacts base. Tighten the oil filter to the proper specification Refer to TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  .
3. Fill the engine crankcase with the proper oil to the correct level. Refer to CAPACITIES AND RECOMMENDED FLUIDS, SPECIFICATIONS .
4. Install the engine belly pan. Refer to BELLY PAN, ENGINE, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
5. Remove the support and lower the vehicle.
